Although it is not a silver-bullet solution, filtered
Internet service can help block sexual temptation before it enters
your house. Unlike filtering software that is installed on
your PC, it does not require additional cost or maintenance, it
cannot be hacked around, and it does not require a password.
REMEMBER, THIS ONLY TREATS THE SYMPTOMS. The cure is a
sustained and growing relationship with Christ - and daily building
your faith

ContentBarrier X

Pros: It has the same filtering capabilities as SafeEyes. I also find its
keyword blocker better than that of SafeEyes. Something I just remembered
is that it has a feature that is supposed to keep kids from predatory chat,
though I haven't checked it out myself. ContentBarrier also has a way to
schedule time on the internet, and you can even limit the amount of time in
a particular block of time, say 30 minutes from 9-11 AM. Use the same
procedure as above to keep yourself from turning it off. This filter is
strictly for Mac.
Cons: The same kinds of weakness as SafeEyes, but for some reason they don't
overlap. If anything, ContentBarrier can be too protective. One major flaw
is that it can be bypassed, though I won't mention how. You have to be
rather tech-savvy to get around it.

Pros: This is by far the most amazing content filter. It is the most
complex method of filtering I've seen and it is almost always accurate. It
has a method of "weighting" certain words so that a medical site won't get
blocked but an adult site will. It also has a way of blocking specific
parts of sites. Mac only.
Cons: Easily bypassed, as it uses the same password you use to install
software and do other system-related things. Also not for the faint of
heart, technologically, though you can download an interface for it.
If you're not the main user of your computer, though, this could work
fantastically. For example, in offices or if your wife happens to be the
tech-savvy one.

SafeEyes

Pros: It has a lot of great features in addition to just blocking categories
of sites, such as the ability to: block keywords and specific sites, allow
specific sites, control what hours of the day it is okay to surf (which may
be helpful for many men in here who have specific hours their wives aren't
home or know when they are prone to fall). Another plus is that you have to
log in to use the internet, and it tracks your activity. The password you
use to log in is separate from an administrative password. Just have
someone else be your administrator, or set the settings yourself, email the
password to someone, and delete it from your computer. You can access the
administration panel from any computer at SafeEyes.com. It has a few
helpful categories of sites that many filters lack, such as lingerie and
swimsuits. There is a Windows version available, too.
Cons: Has some weaknesses in filter accuracy. Also can't block just part of a site (a particular blog or Yahoo! group, for instance).
